Umm Salal defeated Al Sailiya 1-0 in Week 16 of 2025-2026 season Doha Bank Stars League at the Grand Hamad Stadium of Al Arabi club on Friday.

The solitary goal was scored in the 24th minute by Cristo Gonzelez, who latched on to a near-perfect cross by Abdulrahman Faiz Al Rashidi to deliver a right-footed shot from the centre of the box to the bottom left corner that left Fahad Younes without any answer.

The victory pushed Umm Salal, who entered the match with a ‘win or bust’ mentality, to 15 points, just four ahead of last-placed Al Shahania, and the same as Al Sailiya, who are also on 15 points but with superior goal difference.

The win was the fifth of season for Umm Salal.
