Defending champions Al Sadd as well as Al Sailiya will strive for a victory and the three points thereof to rise higher from their present positions.

Al Sadd are currently third in the rankings with 25 points and it is certain that they are motivated to achieve victory and get the three points to compensate for the points they lost in some matches during the season, including the Week 15 game where they were beaten 2-1 by Al Ahli before Al Sadd regrouped to bounce back with a 2-0 win over Qatar SC in the postponed match of Week 8.

In contrast, Al Sailiya are in the 11th place with nine points with a goal difference from Umm Salal, who are in 12th place. Al Sailiya need a win desperately to get out of the relegation zone.
