QSL side Lekhwiya has set off to Iran ahead of their second AFC Champions League tie against Zob Ahan. Djamel Belmadi’s side will be eager to avenge the 1-0 defeat at the hands of the Iranian side in their opening match of the AFC Champions League.
Lekhiwya’s delegation of players and officials set off from Hamad international airport via private jet. Players amongst the delegation included Chico Flores, Nam Tae-Hee and Qatari international Ahmed Yasser.
The Red Knights are currently in last place in Group B and have tough tests against Al Nassr (KSA) & Bunyodkor (UZB) to come. The Doha based outfit will now be focusing on the cup competitions this season, following their 5-0 humbling at the hands of Al Rayyan, effectively handing the Lions the QSL title.
