Al Wakrah coach Marquez Lopez spoke to the media ahead of their 2019-20 QNB Stars League Week 21 match against Al Ahli.

“We are completely ready for this match and winning it is important. We have achieved our main goal this season by staying in the First Division (QNB Stars League) and I believe that the team played well throughout the season.

“I am happy with the performance of players and their work. I am also happy with all support staff of the team. We will try our best to reach the fifth or sixth place.

“Our main striker Mohamed Benyettou is not fully fit yet, but the rest of the players are well prepared and I hope we will continue to get positive results,” said Marquez.

Al Wakrah player Meshaal Abdullah said, “The team’s preparations for the Al Ahli match went off normally, like preparations for other matches. The players’ morale is high after our important victory over Al Arabi.

“I am now preparing to end my career in football. Therefore, I thank everyone who has supported me right throughout. I also thank all officials of Al Wakrah club, headed by His Excellency Sheikh Khalifa bin Hassan Al Thani, and former Football Head Naif Al Khater for their interest. I am proud to end my career at Al Wakrah.”
