
Many exciting contests are on the cards in Week 3 of the Sixth Workers’ Cup on Friday, 16th February. Some teams will look to progress into the next stage and the action promises to be thrilling.
A total of 32 teams, four each in eight groups, are fighting it out in the annual football tournament, organised by the Qatar Stars League and sponsored by the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy. More than 640 players are part of the action, which kicked off at the Al Duhail Stadium on Friday, 2nd February.
Eight games each will be played at the Al Duhail and Al Sadd Stadiums. Matches in Groups A, B, C and D are played at Al Duhail and those in Groups E, F, G and H at Al Sadd. The first kick-off is at 8am and the last game starts at 12.30pm.
This will be the last week in the group stage and eight teams, the top two from each group, will advance to Play-Offs, to be held on Friday, 23rd February.
In Group A, Shapoorji Pallonji will play BOTC, while Gulf Contracting take on Aktor.
In Group B, it will be Taleb Group vs Spartan Ready Mix and Boom vs QDVC.
Group C will pit L&T Qatar against Doha Pest Control and Galfar Al Misnad against Cofley Besix Mannai.
Group D will see ALYSJ take on Pigeon Engineering and Galfar face Trags Engineering.
Group E will have G4S Qatar vs Al Balagh L&t JV and Black Cat vs AG Middle East.
Group F has AALCO vs HBK and Medgulf vs DicoTech Qatar in action.
It will be Al Asmakh vs Schindler and Mowasalat vs Trags Trading in Group G, while defending champions Nakheel meet NAAAS and Bouygues play Youth Club in Group H.

The second-week fixtures, played on Friday, 9th February, had witnessed 108 goals being scored compared to 78 in Week 1.
Of all victories, Galfar defeating Pigeon Engineering 20-0 in Group D and Mowasalat beating Schindler 20-1 in Group G stood out as the biggest-margin wins.
Teams that have an all-win record so far are Shapoorji Pallonji, Taleb Group, Spartan Ready Mix, L&T Qatar, Doha Pest Control, ALYSJ and Nakheel.
Matches are played on Fridays and the final is scheduled for 23rd March. Entry is free for the public.
The tournament’s main objective is to promote a culture of sport and healthy lifestyle in the community of migrant workers engaged in various projects across the State of Qatar, especially those related to the infrastructure of 2022 FIFA World Cup.
