Al Sadd’s Algerian midfielder Nadhir Belhajj has assured that his Al Sadd side is ready for Al Arabi ahead of their top 4 clash on Sunday evening. QSL online caught up with the former Algerian international player to get his thoughts ahead of the big match.

What do you think of the coming match against Al Arabi?
It’s a very tough game and a special derby match in the league.  The fans always look forward for this game. For Al Sadd it is a great opportunity to confirm our top 4 status.

How has the preparations been for Al Sadd?
We have commenced training on Monday; the squad is very excited and focused for the match ahead.

Do you consider Arabi matches to be special?
Of course, this match is special for both teams. I think the match has extra significance because of how close we both are in the league. Whoever wins this know’s they have the upper hand in the race for the top 4 places. This match is a six pointer.

Last time out you both drew 1-1, can Al Sadd get the win this time?
We have forgotten about the game in the first half of the season. However the coming game is a different matter. We have no choice to win, especially when we have so few matches left in the league.

Do you have any words for the Sadd fans?
Firstly I would like to thank the fans who have been supporting us during this tough time. Both domestically and international competitions, we will be giving our all in this match and till the end of the season.

What is your team’s ambition with Al Sadd this season?
Our ambitions are for another trophy this season.  Al Rayyan have all but won the league . so we are focusing on both the Qatar Cup and Emir Cup moving forward.

Do you think Sadd can make the top 4 places?
Of course we can. I think that is what is expected at this club. Currently we are in 4^th spot and in control. We just have to win our remaining games, and who know’s we could even finish higher than 4^th place.
