Al Ahli coach Nebosha Jovovic spoke to the media ahead of their 2020-21 season QNB Stars League Week 6 match against Umm Salal.

“We are ready to face Umm Salal. The long break between our last match and this match in the league was enough for me to prepare the players in a good way and correct our mistakes in order to be back on the winning path.

“This match will not be easy, but we have prepared the team well to meet Umm Salal, who have improved a lot. We respect Umm Salal, they are one of the good teams noted for high quality in performance. They have strengthened their ranks with a number of outstanding players, but we have enough players to face them and score points.

“We have not forgotten the heavy loss (1-7) we suffered at the hands of Al Sadd and we have learnt a lot from it. Big defeat is not good. I borrow the saying repeated by coaches in Italy and erstwhile Yugoslavia that “it is better to lose by seven goals at one time than losing seven times by one goal”.

“Past is past and we are now fully ready to face Umm Salal with the aim of returning to the path of victories. I have great confidence in my players’ abilities. I never doubted them and they have worked very seriously in the past period for the next stage,” said Nebosha.
