The kick-off is at 20:30 at the Al Ahli Stadium on Friday, 4th September, 2020.

Al Khor will be a determined lot as they had to stay in the top flight by defeating Al Markhiya 2-0 in play-off on 28th August, with goals from Ahmed Hammoudan and Abdullah Al Moraisi.

The play-off pitted 11th-placed team in the QNB Stars League against Second Division runners-up of 2019-20 season.

It may be recalled that Al Kharaitiyat earned promotion to the top flight by virtue of being the Second Division champions.

Al Khor, placed 11th with 17 points, had only one point more than directly-relegated side Al Shahania, so The Knights will be keen to avoid a similar situation.

Al Arabi too will look to begin strongly in the new season, having finished seventh in the 2019-20 QNB Stars League.

At one stage, The Dream Team even occupied the second position in the table and raised hopes of ending up in the top-four bracket. However, their results did not match expectations as the tournament wore on.

Al Arabi, a traditional powerhouse in Qatar football with a large and passionate fan base, have the potential to lift their performance by a few notches.
