Al Duhail coach Djamel Belmadi spoke to the media ahead of their 2025-2026 Doha Bank Stars League Week 14 match against Al Rayyan.

“We have a tough match ahead against a good team. In the first leg, the result was disappointing considering the number of chances we created. However, this is a new league encounter and we will give our all to win.

“Mathematically, we are currently behind in the standings, but recent results clearly show a significant improvement in both our performance and results. We must continue working in this manner to achieve more victories, allowing us to close the gap with the leading teams, starting with a win in the next match.

“Regarding the title race, the current points difference makes it clear to me. Despite this, hope always remains. A club the size of Al Duhail should always be at the top, but the most important thing at this stage is to secure victories,” said Belmadi.

Al Duhail player Sultan Al Breik said, “The team needs to collect as many points as possible in the coming period. Therefore, the Al Rayyan match is of paramount importance for us to win and improve our position in the league standings.

“We are aware of this because it is a match against strong opponents who have been performing well this season and we are all determined to secure a victory in this high-stakes encounter.”
