Al Shahania assistant coach Pejman Montazeri spoke to the media ahead of their 2025-2026 Doha Bank Stars League Week 16 match against Qatar SC.

“The weeks and matches keep coming in the league, and it is a league that demands stamina. Our match this week is against Qatar SC and it will be tough, like all other matches. We are approaching all upcoming matches as ‘cup finals’. We are taking it one step at a time and our current focus is entirely on this match against Qatar SC.

“We create many chances, but unfortunately, luck is not on our side. That is our problem. We need more luck and we will work on it. We have faith in our abilities and potential,” said Montazeri.

Al Shahania player Mohammed Bader Sayyar said, “Every match is important. The atmosphere in the dressing room is perhaps the most positive we have expected, because in the previous matches, even with losses, we have been performing well, creating chances and being strong opponents, but we have lacked the finishing touch.

“That is what we have been working on with the coach this week. The match will be very important and what matters most right now, with the league at its fag end, is the three points, more important than the performance.”
