Al Duhail coach Djamel Belmadi spoke to the media ahead of their 2026-2027 season Doha Bank Stars League Week 1 match against Al Sailiya.

“We began our pre-season training in Doha before the start of our training camp in the Netherlands. Although the team was only half full, the players present showed high concentration and clear commitment in training.

“Regarding Al Sailiya, we can rely on what we saw last season. There have not been many changes to the squad and the coach is still in his position, to whom I extend my sincere thanks. We are very familiar with our opponents,” said Belmadi.

Al Duhail player Almoez Ali said, “After returning from our successful pre-season camp in the Netherlands, our focus is at its highest level as we look forward to the start of the season against Al Sailiya. We all know what happened last season and our performance then certainly did not satisfy us as players. 

“This season, we have a great opportunity to return with the team’s strong character and regain our usual enthusiasm and the beginning will be with the Al Sailiya match.”
