Al Duhail coach Djamel Belmadi spoke to the media ahead of their 2025-2026 Doha Bank Stars League Week 12 match against Al Shahania.

“We have the desire to get back on track and perform better in the second half of season, starting with the match against Al Shahania.

“We are starting the second half of season with a strong and clear desire to correct the team’s course and deliver a better performance. What we achieved in the first half did not meet the club’s expectations and ambitions. The upcoming stage will be extremely important and there is nothing better than achieving a positive result and winning our first match of second leg against Al Shahania.

“We are facing Al Shahania, who have high ambitions, a boost in morale and a new dynamic following their change in coaching staff, which was clearly evident in their recent match against Al Gharafa. We expect a difficult and complex match against them and we will not delve into further technical details about this team at this time,” said Belmadi.

Al Duhail player Benjamin Bourigeaud said, “Our preparations are going on well for the Al Shahania match. We have been working hard for three days and we must prepare with all our strength for that match, which is not expected to be as easy as it was in the first leg.

“We must show a lot of seriousness and continue with that during this stage of the season in order to make up for the points we lost in the first leg.”
