Amine Zahzouh gave the hosts the lead in the 25th minute, heading home from close range following a well-delivered corner by Luis Alberto.

Al Gharafa responded strongly and equalised just before half-time through Alvaro Djalo, who fired in a powerful low shot after a superb cross from Yacine Brahimi.

The Cheetahs took the lead six minutes into the second half when Ferjani Sassi turned home another Brahimi corner. Brahimi then added his name to the scoresheet in the 71st minute, converting an assist from Amro Surag to make it 3-1.

However, Al Wakrah refused to surrender. Luis Alberto pulled one back with a stunning long-range strike just six minutes later, before Almahdi Ali snatched a last-gasp equaliser deep into stoppage time to ensure the points were shared.

The result took Al Gharafa to 35 points, while Al Wakrah are now on 24 points in the standings.
