A late goal from substitute Moameen Mutasem saw Al Shahania clinch a thrilling 2-1 win over Al Rayyan in Week 18 of 2025-2026 season Doha Bank Stars League at the Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium on Friday.

The valuable three points took Al Shahania’s tally to 17 points and lifted them to 10th place in the standings, while Al Rayyan remained in fourth with 28 points.

Sudanese Mutasem slotted home the winner from centre inside the box after being beautifully set up by Abdoulaye Traore in the 81st minute of the game after Belgian Franceso Antonucci fetched a spectacular equalizer in the 23rd minute – striking a long-ranger from the right which clipped the top of the left post before dashing in.

Tiago Silva had earlier provided Al Rayyan the lead in the 19th minute with a blazing shot taken from outside the box.

Al Rayyan were, however, unlucky in the 25th minute when a Rodrigo Moreno kick found the bottom of the right post.
