Al Rayyan rallied from being a goal down to overcome Al Ahli 2-1 in Week 16 of 2025-2026 season Doha Bank Stars League at the Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium on Sunday.
 

Al Ahli had gone up the lead in the 29th minute through Erik Exposito. Al Rayyan hit back late with goals from Aleksander Mitrovic (82nd minute) and Rodrigo Moreno (90+1 minute).

Al Rayyan’s tally moved up to 28 points while being fourth in the standings while Al Ahli suffering their 11th loss are 10th with 15 points.

Spaniard Exposito had fired Al Ahli’s hopes with a telling free-kick from about five yards outside the box, which flew from the gap in the wall and low towards the left. It also brushed the gloves of rival goalkeeper while going into the net.

Al Rayyan had to battle hard and their efforts bore fruit towards the end as Serbian Mitrovic deflected in a long Gregore Silva cross from near the left post.

Brazilian Gregore was back in the act in added time as this time he provided Moreno with a cross to make a fine header which thrilled Al Rayyan’s fans.
