The Qatar Stars League Management on Monday announced that the Qatar Cup final between Al Sadd and Al Duhail would be a Live Snapchat Story. The match will kick off at the Al Sadd Stadium on Friday, 27th April, at 19:00.

This will be the third successive Qatar Cup final Live Snapchat Story, after two successful seasons. The number of viewers in 2016 was more than 1.5 million, while that exceeded 1.8 million in 2017.

This time around, a number of youngsters have been designated to shoot and download mostly videos in areas such as the arrival of the teams and during coronation of the winners. Fans around the stadium can also participate by downloading videos and selecting ‘filters’ for the final, and the best will be chosen.

A representative will be selected from both Al Sadd and Al Duhail to take some snaps and videos, particularly behind the scenes, and encourage their fans to interact and participate in the coverage.

Al Sadd reached the final by edging arch-rivals Al Rayyan 6-2 on penalties after the regular time ended in a 2-2 draw.

Al Duhail’s path to the title was relatively easier as they prevailed over Al Gharafa by a 6-1 margin in the second semifinal.
