<p>Al Kharaitiyat raised visions of an upset over Umm Salal by taking the lead as early as the fifth minute through Mohammed Razzak, but went down fighting 1-2 in Week 6 of the QNB Stars League at the Al Khor Stadium on Friday.</p><p>Umm Salal moved to 10 points, while Al Kharaitiyat’s winless run continued.</p><p>Ivorian striker Yannick Sagbo scored the goals for Umm Salal in the 19th (penalty) and 24th minutes.</p><p>The penalty, that helped Umm Salal draw level, was awarded after Al Kharaitiyat defender Abdrahman Mahamat handled Sagbo’s header.</p><p>Sagbo converted from the spot by sending Al Kharaitiyat goalkeeper Ahmed Sofyan the other way.</p><p>The burly striker was at it again after five minutes.</p><p>A Jugurtha Hamroun free-kick that hit the side netting was the nearest Al Kharaitiyat came towards drawing parity before the half-time whistle.</p><p>Sagbo continued from where he left off in the first half. This time, he saw his shot being blocked by the rival goalkeeper.</p><p>At the other end, Romanian Valentin Lazar took a more proactive role for Al Kharaitiyat who desperately sought their first point. He came up with a thunderous shot after 65 minutes and that was put to safety by Umm Salal goalkeeper Basel Zaidan.</p><p>Syrian Mahmoud Al Mawas was the livewire in the Umm Salal ranks. He almost made it 3-1, but Sofyan thwarted his attempt from close range in the 77th minute.</p><p>Al Kharaitiyat then got a good opportunity. Mahmoud Saad neatly crossed the ball from the left, but Abdulla Al Anzi could not beat Zaidan.</p>
