The Qatar Stars League (QSL) will participate in a football festival to be organised by the Yarmouk Preparatory School for Boys on Wednesday, 21st November, marking the start date of the 2022 World Cup four years from now.
The festival will include several football-related events, with the participation of a number of sports and media figures as well as celebrities. More than 300 students representing 30 schools will also be a part of it.
The festival coincides with the start date of FIFA World Cup in Qatar four years on. Its main objective is to send a strong message that Qatar is steadily on its way towards organising the Arab world’s first World Cup, which will leave a lasting legacy for the entire region.
A delegation, comprising the school’s Sports Education Co-ordinator Abdullah Mubarak and Physical Education Teacher Khamis Mohammed Al Kuwari, visited the QSL headquarters, where they held talks with QSL’s Executive Director of Marketing, Sales and Communications Hassan Rabia Al Kuwari.
The initiative is part of the QSL’s commitment towards Corporate Social Responsibility and promoting the culture of football.
“We’re delighted to organise this festival, which will be held under the auspices of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, and with the participation of several sports and educational bodies. We hope the objectives of this event will be achieved,” said Abdullah.
“The festival coincides with the starting date of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar after four years and we aim to highlight this event at the World Cup,” said Khamis.
“The festival will be dedicated to football. The event will be attended by students from the Al Noor Institute for the Blind in a dedicated playground. We’re proud to be associated with them, and we look forward to meeting everyone on 21st November at the school,” he added.
