Umm Salal face Al Rayyan in Round 9 (Group A) of the 2021-2022 season Ooredoo Cup. The kick-off is at 16:00 at the Al Wakrah Stadium on Thursday.

Umm Salal, who lost 2-3 to Al Shamal in Round 8, are fourth in the group with seven points from six matches (two wins, one draw and three defeats).

The Orange Fortress have a goal difference of -6 (seven goals for and 13 against) and will look to garner maximum points from their last two outings if they are to nurture semifinal hopes.

On the other hand, Al Rayyan did well in the last round by defeating Al Wakrah 2-1. Jacinto Dala put Al Wakrah ahead in the 44th minute, but Laurent Blanc’s men hit back through goals from Yohan Boli (51st minute) and Franck Kom (83rd minute).

Al Rayyan are second in the group with nine points from six matches (three victories and as many defeats). The Lions have a goal difference of +2 (11 goals for and nine against).
