Al Sadd coach Xavi Hernandez spoke to the media ahead of their 2020-21 season QNB Stars League Week 12 match against Al Kharaitiyat.

“We face Al Kharaitiyat in the next match at the beginning of the second leg. We had done good work in the first leg of the tournament and we must continue the same way.

“In the last match, we could not win and we have to forget that and start well as we started the second leg. We play against the bottom-placed team in the table, but they are a good team. I respect their coach Yousef Adam very much. He performed well and I think that he is a very good coach who does a great job.

“His team deserves more points and does not deserve to be in the last place. The match against Al Kharaitiyat will be difficult because all clubs are playing with a lot of motivation against Al Sadd, so we have to be careful and not complacent so that we do not lose points.

“We have to respect them, also because they have a good team and good players, and it will be difficult to get the three points.

“Yes, we need the fans and now we are in a good stage. I think everyone is having fun with the team and we thank the fans for their support in the Amir Cup final and in the recent matches,” said Xavi.

Al Sadd player Salem Al Hajri said, “A difficult match awaits us at the beginning of the second leg and we seek to work at the same level and win the league title without losing, which will give us an impetus for the next tournaments.

“Thank God, I have reached the last stage of my readiness after nine months of injury and am 100 per cent ready to help the team in the league and other tournaments.”
