Umm Salal coach Aziz Ben Askar spoke to the media ahead of their 2020-21 season QNB Stars League Week 12 match against Al Duhail.

“My team’s match against Al Duhail is important for both teams, especially for them but our goal is to get maximum points from each match. We know Al Duhail are a good team and after the arrival of coach Sabri  Lamouchi, they are doing well. They are preparing well for every match. But let's wait and see what happens in this match.

“As I always say, we play one after another and we are looking for victory every game, but in football not everything you wish is fulfilled. With Al Rayyan, we got a point. Also against Al Gharafa, the same thing happened, and I liked the players' reaction. After Al Gharafa scored a goal, we were able to equalize and this indicates the mental presence of the players which is something important to me.

“I ask the players to focus day after day and match after match and to prepare well for each game. We are ready for all scenarios. This is football, you cannot control what will happen, and I am sure we have prepared well and that is what is important to me,” said Ben Askar.

Umm Salal player Mohamed Tresor said, “We have prepared well for the match because we know that Al Duhail is a big team and one of the best teams out there and therefore they must be dealt with with all seriousness.

“We are ready to achieve the best result, and as everyone saw, our team in the last three matches improved a lot and got a point in every match. And now against Al Duhail we will work to get a positive result. We are dealing with our rivals as one family and we are doing well and looking forward to presenting the best in every match.”
