Al Rayyan coach Laurent Blanc spoke to the media ahead of their 2020-21 season QNB Stars League Week 12 match against Al Sailiya.

“Our next match against Al Sailiya is difficult and we hope to get out of it with a positive result like our last game against Al Khor. But we must keep providing our best in order to achieve the victory that we are preparing the team for.

“With regard to the problem of wasting opportunities, we will work to solve it and develop the team’s performance in general and score goals not only through the attackers, but also through the defenders,” said Blanc.

Al Rayyan player Abdulaziz Hatem said, “The Al Sailiya match is important for us. These are three important points. We have games against Al Sailiya, Al Gharafa and Qatar SC, and we hope to compete and reach the top-four bracket. At the moment, we are not thinking about the difference in points between Al Rayyan and Qatar SC. Rather, we think about the six points that separate us from Al Gharafa, which are not considered a big thing.

“Regarding the pressures on the team, I would say it is normal, as we are a club with history. Last season, we got the second place and this season we retreated for several reasons. We have to offer everything we have in order to compete and our team has a group of players who are able to achieve our goals. We prepare ourselves to give our best.

“Regarding my personal ambition, it is to win a domestic and foreign championship with Al Rayyan.”
