Al Ahli coach Borja Jimenez spoke to the media ahead of their 2026-2027 season Doha Bank Stars League Week 5 match against Al Sailiya.

“The team had prepared well both physically and psychologically. I have confidence that the team would deliver a satisfactory performance, reflecting the hard work and training the players have put in recently.

“We used the league break to address various technical issues identified in previous rounds, aiming for a strong showing by Al Ahli in the upcoming phase. The entire squad understands the significance of this period, the importance of securing victories and the need to climb the league standings.

“I have full confidence in the players and their ability to win matches and improve the team’s position in the overall league table,” said Borja Jimenez.

Al Ahli player William Troost-Ekong said, “The match against Al Sailiya is crucial for the players, as it follows the recent break and precedes another international break in November. The players have the ambition to win every match leading up to the next break.

“The squad is fully prepared for this phase, with a clear focus on securing points and advancing in the league standings.”
