Al Gharafa coach Pedro Martins spoke to the media ahead of their 2026-2027 season Doha Bank Stars League Week 9 match against Al Duhail.

“As you know, playing five matches in 15 days is extremely challenging, especially given our recent, less-than-satisfactory results. Nevertheless, we have navigated this situation with a clear focus on preparing effectively for the upcoming match.

“Al Duhail are a very strong side, they favour a high-pressing game and have adjusted their style of play, particularly in defence, compared to last season. We are aware that they will enter the match with great confidence, especially since they currently sit at the top of table, level on points with Al Rayyan and Al Sadd. Consequently, this is a highly-significant match for them,” said Martins.

Al Gharafa player Ayoub Al Oui said, “The squad is ready and determined to secure a victory and claim all three points.

“Thankfully, our preparations are progressing well, characterized by the same level of seriousness, determination and resolve. Despite the limited time available for recovery, we are doing our best to manage the situation, and our ambition is to win and secure the three points.”
