A stoppage-time strike from Jacinto Dala saw Al Wakrah beat Al Gharafa 3-2 in an exciting Week 5 match of 2026-2027 season Doha Bank Stars League at the Khalifa International Stadium on Thursday.

Their first win of the league, took Al Wakrah’s tally to five points while Al Gharafa remained on four.

Angolan forward Dala struck in the 78th minute and 90+3 minutes after Aissa Laidouni had scored the opening goal in the 38th minute. The goal getters for Al Gharafa were Yacine Brahimi 45+10 minute (penalty) and Ferjani Sassi (48th minute). 

With both sides battling hard, a Dala strike from inside the box rattled Al Gharafa goalkeeper Khalifa Ababacar as he failed to grab the ball and it spilled into an open net.

Dala earlier fetched the 2-2 equalizer for Al Wakrah as he latched on to a chance after Ababacar had dived to save a penalty kick from Moroccan Amin Zahzouh. The ball however hit the right post and fell to a lunging Dala to score.

Al Wakrah drew first blood with Laidouni picking on a defence lapse to strike from top of the box.

Sassi levelled things for Al Gharafa with a fine header and Brahimi struck from the spot to make it 2-1 before Dala brace did them in.
