Last season’s champions Lekhwiya travelled to the Suheim Bin Hamad Stadium to take on Qatar Sports Club.The clash was an important opportunity for the Red Knights to go level on points with Al Sadd even if it was only for one day with the wolves still to play their game tomorrow.
The story of the match saw the visitors take an early lead just 2 minutes into the game when Ismaiel Mohammed was clear through on goal and the forward coolly dispatched the ball into the back of the net.
Then just 6 minutes later Ismaiel Mohammed was at it again when he got his team’s second goal of the game to give Lekhwiya a comfortable two goal cushion.
At half time the score was 2-0 to the visitors.
After the break Lekhwiya where held back as QSC started to dominate possession but then on the 76th minute the game was put beyond doubt when Slovakian winger Weiss scored.
Then the kings finally broke Lekhwiya’s defensive line when their star striker Hamdi Harbaoui got his 11th goal of the season.
The result puts Lekhwiya temporarily joint top with Al Sadd.
