Al Ahli coach Nebojsa Jovovic spoke to the media ahead of their 2020-21 season QNB Stars League Week 12 match against Al Wakrah.

“Al Wakrah are one of the distinguished teams who have continued to offer good levels in the league despite the circumstances they faced due to the absence of important players in their ranks during their last few matches.

“We have worked during the last period to correct the team’s mistakes that we committed against Al Duhail last week when we lost 3-5 despite the outstanding performance that we provided.

“There are many absences in our ranks due to injuries and we have to prepare the players for all matches. If we do not do that, we will face many problems. In general, the coming period will witness many games and we must prepare the team to be ready for that,” said Nebojsa.

“Al Ahli player Fahad Al Keldi said, “The competition is gradually getting more difficult because many teams are fighting hard to be among the top four and other sides are looking for better positions in the table, especially since there is not much difference between teams, except Al Sadd, in terms of the number of points.

“We are looking forward to the second leg, having achieved good results in the first leg. That requires continuous efforts and we must be ready to provide the required level that guarantees success in obtaining a good position at the end of the season.”
