Al Duhail coach Sabri Lamouchi spoke to the media ahead of their 2020-21 season QNB Stars League Week 19 match against Al Sailiya.
“We have to focus on Al Sailiya to achieve victory. It is an extension of the matches that the team has played in the last three months. Our team is currently in a situation that I cannot say bad but physically we are in poor condition. However, we will focus on taking the three points from this game.
“We will focus on preparing the players physically especially since we have injuries and we have players returning from injury. Al Duhail always play to win despite the numerical disadvantage and pressure of matches. But we always try to focus on the field to win.
Al Sailiya, although they lost to Al Wakrah in the last round, play better against us. I cannot give excuses and we have to win all the games in order to keep the runners-up spot in the standings.
“The good news for us is Ahmed Yasser will return after the end of his quarantine and there is Sultan Al Breik, who is returning after the end of his suspension. We also have the return of Ismail Mohammed which is good for us against Al Sailiya,” said Lamouchi.
Al Duhail goalkeeper Salah Zakaria said, “Al Sailiya are a good side. We have an important match against them. Al Sailiya are a well-performing team and has distinguished players. We benefited from the comfort that the technical staff gave us after the end of our match against Al Kharaitiyat. In a match which we are required to win, there is a great pressure on everyone, but it gives us the motivation to work hard as well.
“Al Duhail have goalkeepers at the highest level and there is strong competition between us at the stadium and certainly all of this is in the interest of the team, as everyone performs as required of them.”
