Al Khor coach Winfried Schefer spoke to the media ahead of their 2020-21 season QNB Stars League Week 19 match against Qatar SC.

“I want to thank the team for the great performance we put up against Al Gharafa. We created many opportunities, but could not take advantage of them and all goals we conceded were mistakes. So we must rectify them so that we do not repeat them.

“Qatar SC are a very organised team and we must be careful in this match. They are now showing the best levels and are considered as one of the best teams in the league. We must find ways in order to produce a positive result.

“We must channelise the positive energy in the team after the previous match and go into this match in high spirit. I have full confidence that my players will give off their best, as I have noticed the change in their level since I arrived. All they need now is the final touch and goals,” said Schefer.

Al Khor player Pierre-Michel Lasogga said, “I have been with Al Khor for a few weeks now and I feel comfortable with the team. We have many outstanding players, Qatari and overseas, and I can see the advanced level that the team showed in previous matches.

“We created many opportunities, but did not have luck on our side most of the time, as we saw especially during our loss to Al Gharafa. We were the most dominant team and we are now working on these problems. We hope to rectify them against Qatar SC. All my focus is to help the team stay in the QNB Stars League.”
