Al Duhail coach Sabri Lamouchi spoke to the media ahead of their 2020-21 season QNB Stars League Week 13 match against Al Wakrah.
“It is an important match for us for sure, and we must be at the top of our focus in this match to get a good result. There are not many teams in the league that are good in defence like Umm Salal, which we faced in the previous meeting. We had quality and strength against us, but we created a number of chances, but we failed in the end.
“We will play the match against Al Wakrah with the same goal that we play all our matches which is to win regardless of the previous result. I am satisfied that the team continues to perform well and create opportunities and we will strive to be more effective.
“I am not thinking about winning the league title now. We are going with a match-by-match approach. We have a number of matches during the month of January after which we will appear in the FIFA Club World Cup and then we can think of the AFC Champions League,” said Lamouchi.
Al Duhail player Mohammed Musa said, “Our team is capable of compensating for the loss we suffered in the first-leg game against Al Wakrah. We are ready for the Al Wakrah match, which will not be easy. Al Wakrah lost in the last round and they will try to compensate for that defeat.
“But our ambition is to win and collect the three points. Our start this season was not good due to injuries, but the team in the last five games has won four games and lost one. We will certainly work hard to maintain our hunt for the league title. There are still many games in which we will work to achieve good results.”
