Al Arabi coach Heimir Hallgrimsson spoke to the media ahead of their 2020-21 season QNB Stars League Week 15 match against Umm Salal.

“Umm Salal are not an easy competitor and the match is important for us in order to return to the winning path and collect the three points. Umm Salal have a good team and a coach who put the team on the right path.

“It is always difficult to play against Umm Salal and we respect them very much, but we are also a difficult team.

“It was difficult to accept a goal in the last minute of the match (against Al Gharafa in the last round), but the team will not be affected by that result. We hope to keep winning games.

“We are happy with the way the team is doing, we do not concede a lot of goals and our opponents do not get many opportunities. This is what any coach wants -  stability in the team and the way the players perform on the field is now more impressive.

“We defend as a team and I think we are showing our own identity, so we are happy with that,” said Hallgrimsson.

Al Arabi player Jasser Yahya said, “The team is in continuous development as a result of the efforts made by the technical and administrative staff and the players, and we will be able to continue to provide the best in the upcoming matches.

“The Umm Salal match will not be easy and our focus before every match is on the technical aspects of our team, while the coach's focus is on the tactical side of the opposing team. And this gives us a great opportunity to know the opponent's strengths and weaknesses.

“We have to put all our focus on the Umm Salal match and do our best in order to win and achieve the three points.”
