Al Sadd coach Xavi Hernandez spoke to the media ahead of their 2020-21 season QNB Stars League Week 22 match against Qatar SC.

“We are ready for the final match of the league. Our next match is against Qatar Sports Club, who are one of the teams that we have not been able to defeat this season. We drew against them in the first leg. In my opinion, they are a very good team, seeking to qualify for the AFC Champions League next season.

“In their last match against Al Ahli, they (Qatar SC) played with 10 players against 11 and this means that the match against them will be difficult and complex for us. But our goal is to finish this competition without defeat and of course we want to get three points. We will continue the rotation process among the players. We will rotate again because in this last period we had three matches in six days, but we want to end the season with three more points.

“I am very proud of the team and these players. It is easy to be a coach with this side because of the way they train, their sense of football and their work ethic. The match against Al Rayyan was a good example because Al Rayyan are trying to qualify for the AFC Champions League and we won again in Qatar Clasico,” said Xavi.

Al Sadd player Hosam Kamal said, “This is an important match for us. The last match in the league this season awaits us and our goal is to conclude the competition without a loss. Achieving victory gives us an advantage in the upcoming competitions.

“Qatar SC are going through a good period and need no introduction. The first leg between us ended in a draw and we will try to compensate for it with a win this time. Our coach in recent matches is making many changes in order to give all players the opportunity and also to prepare us for the AFC Champions League matches.”
