Al Sadd coach Xavi Hernandez spoke to the media ahead of their 2020-21 season QNB Stars League Week 19 match against Al Wakrah.

“An important match awaits us after we succeeded in clinching the title. I think it is the right time to rotate the players, especially since the basic group played a lot of matches and suffer from some minor injuries. We want to rest them, but despite that we want to win and end the competition in the best way.

“Al Wakrah, as you know, were in a difficult situation and they will play this match strongly. We cannot be complacent because, as you know, all the matches are difficult in this tournament. We are ready to face Al Wakrah and we want to continue to work and achieve a new height for the team.

“We must continue our good work in the remaining four matches. We are Al Sadd and whoever represents us will have the opportunity to show his worth. Everyone is important to us and we are a collective team. We play as one group and our goal is always to achieve victories in all tournaments,” said Xavi.

Al Sadd player Guilherme Torres said, “We respect Al Wakrah team and must do our utmost to win this match. I hope everyone shows a high level.

“We have to give everything we have to win this match and win the three points. Al Wakrah are a good team and have high-quality players, but we also have special players.”
