Al Sadd coach Xavi Hernandez spoke to the media ahead of their 2020-21 season QNB Stars League Week 15 match against Al Khor.
“Our first goal is to continue our winning streak and further advance in the table. Everyone remembers that we drew against Al Khor in the first phase of the league - they are one of the two teams that we lost points against. It will be a difficult match, but we are in good form. We have to keep the distance from the rest of the clubs, and after our big victory over Al Duhail, we need to focus and continue to give our best.
“Of course, we are the favourites to win, but everyone remembers that we had a draw in the first leg. It will be difficult because it is a strong and organised team and they have good defence and new foreign players. We need to get three points and we cannot falter. We may be the favourites to win the league as we have a difference of 11 points with Al Duhail, but we have not won anything yet. This is what I repeat to my players.
“We must focus and appear on the pitch with 100 per cent concentration and effort,” said Xavi.
Al Sadd player Ahmed Sayyar said, “It will be a difficult match for both teams. We are in the lead and are striving hard to win the three points. Al Khor will also be trying to get the points, so it will be a difficult match. The difference in the lead has become 11 points, but the competition is still there and our goal is to provide the best in every match we play.”
