Al Arabi coach Heimir Hallgrimsson spoke to the media ahead of their 2020-21 season QNB Stars League Week 14 match against Al Gharafa.

“I am happy with the team’s performance in the last few matches as we achieved four consecutive victories and made important steps forward in the points table.

“Our match against Al Gharafa comes at an important juncture in the competition, during which the team will try to do its best to achieve a positive result. Certainly all the teams at this stage seek to collect the maximum number of points in order to improve their position in the rankings.

“For us, the competition on the chart does not concern us now. We are happy with the performance the team is providing. It was a great series of matches and if we continue on the same approach, we will give ourselves the opportunity to fight but this also depends on the other teams, so it is better not to think about.

“Our focus is only on the Al Gharafa match because it is an important and difficult match. The opponents are a good team and have distinguished players who have played for a long time. They are good tactically and have a quality coach and I think it is time to achieve a positive result against them.

“There are many reasons for us getting good results - the first of which is the lack of injuries and the second is the team's cohesion as well as good physical fitness. Thirdly, there is harmony among the players who have been playing together for long. The players know each other well on the field. These are the most important three reasons that have helped us achieve positive results. I hope we will not lose the services of any player in the upcoming matches,” said Hallgrimsson.

Al Arabi player Marc Muniesa said, “We are getting ready for an important match against Al Gharafa. This is our chance to get another positive result. I am happy with the performance of the team. We have not conceded many goals which is due to the team's collective work, not just the defenders and the goalkeeper.

“I am a professional player with great experience and I do not have difficulty in communicating with my team-mates. We are working well as partners and it is not just a matter of few players, there are many distinguished players ready to play.
