Al Rayyan coach Laurent Blanc spoke to the media ahead of their 2020-21 season QNB Stars League Week 14 match against Qatar SC.

“We have enthusiasm in our group. And we feel ready to play against Qatar SC. Yes, it will be a difficult match. Maintaining a winning form is always important to a team and all good things in football always come with winning form.

“When I say that we are working to win matches actually means that all coaches in the league are working for the same goal. We have high quality professional players.

“I respect Qatar SC like I respect all other teams. As for the fluctuation in our results, this is due to the fact that the team has 13 or 14 players who have experience and we must develop the other players. I also hope that new players can add value to the team.

“I think that the enthusiasm of Al Rayyan players is what helps them do well on the pitch and they did well in matches against Al Sadd and Al Gharafa. We have prepared well this week as we did prior to playing against Al Gharafa. Qatar SC have a good team and it will not be easy to compete against them, but I have complete confidence in my players,” said Blanc.

Al Rayyan player Mohammed Juma said, “We will take on Qatar SC with an eye on getting the three points because we need them. Their star player Youcef Belaili is difficult to stop, but Al Rayyan defenders can counter him. Laurent Blanc is a renowned coach and Al Rayyan players, like myself, will benefit from his presence. Facing Qatar SC is a difficult proposition. It is one of the top three teams and we will try to achieve a positive result. Let me say this again - we are ready for the match and bag three points.”
