Al Kharaitiyat coach Wesam Rizik spoke to the media ahead of their 2020-21 season QNB Stars League Week 20 match against Al Ahli.

“Our next match will be like a cup match because getting full points can double our hopes of avoiding the relegation. At the same time, a loss will not be in our favour. We will fight with all strength.

“It is a battle of the minds now. The opportunity is still favourable to achieve our goal despite the difficulty of the matches and the position of the team in general. But we have the determination to win against Al Ahli.

“Everyone knows that Al Ahli have good professional players. They play well and are very good at attack and defence. Therefore, we have to face them as a team. We have to avoid mistakes and take advantage of the opportunities that are available in front of the goal. We have to score goals to get victory. We consider this as a cup match and a decisive match that will see very high levels of concentration from all players.

“We benefited from the break we got in the league and the team went through intensive training as we worked to improve fitness. We strengthened technical aspects and worked on our weaknesses and corrected mistakes that appeared in the past,” said Wesam.

Al Kharaitiyat player Abdulrahman Mohammed said, “I am ready to play the match against Al Ahli as I have recovered from the injury I had suffered.

“It is certain that our match against Al Ahli is very important for us because winning it will enhance our hopes of staying in the league. Losing it will complicate our calculations so it is a match that could be very decisive. Strength and determination to win will help us stand out.”
