Qatar SC coach Younis Ali spoke to the media ahead of their 2020-21 season QNB Stars League Week 6 match against Al Wakrah.

“We needed a break in order to strengthen the squad with some new players. We will play for the first time this season with five professionals. In general, the team is taking positive steps towards harmony and stability, and all these factors will help deliver a level and performance that matches the efforts exerted by everyone.

“I would like to commend the efforts of the club’s Board of Directors to provide the necessary support to achieve the desired results in the next phase. And we are trying as much as possible to make up for the lost time with the arrival of six to seven new players.

“But what is important is that things are going very well now. Acclimatization takes time, which is a normal situation. The players require more official matches and we try our best to achieve the best possible level.

“Al Wakrah are one of the teams noted for collective performance and they are also a well-organized side. They also have players noted for individual brilliance. Therefore, we try to impose our style and provide a level befitting the name and position of Qatar SC.

“There is no doubt that the great support by the Board of Directors for the needs of the team is a great motivating factor for us, so we are required to give everything we have on the pitch,” said Younis.
