Umm Salal coach Aziz Ben Askar spoke to the media ahead of their 2020-21 season QNB Stars League Week 7 match against Al Sadd.
“We were disappointed after our loss to Al Ahli in the last round, but we will continue to work to achieve our goal this season, which is difficult though.
“We go into the match without pressure because the pressure is on Al Sadd. We are thinking about the points and we will see how things will go.
“We are facing the leaders and the best team in Asia whose coach is doing a great job. But as I kept saying, we focus on ourselves and I am happy that we have a good group of players. For me, this is important because everyone is waiting for good results and I think this is is not difficult.
“We are addressing the issue of not scoring goals. I am happy that Kayke (Rodriguez) joined our team and we are lucky to have him. Unfortunately, he is nursing an injury currently and I hope he will recover quickly,” said Ben Askar.
Umm Salal player Moses Orkuma said, “We are working to provide the best so that the team gets out of the current situation. We realize that it is difficult, especially since the team occupies the last place in the table. The players as well as technical and management staff are working to rectify this situation.
“There is a positive response from the players in training after losing to Al Ahli and we will make every effort to face Al Sadd whom, we know, are a tough side. But everything is possible and I believe in our team, the technical staff, and our ability to give off our best.”
