Al Wakrah coach Marquez Lopez spoke to the media ahead of their 2020-21 season QNB Stars League Week 11 match against Al Kharaitiyat.

“The situation for the Al Wakrah team this year is more difficult than the previous year or previous years and everyone knows that. I lost two players and that is a situation that is not easy to fix. I know that we have lost several matches, but the important thing is to prepare the players to come back and aim for wins. I know that I have to put the players in a better condition. My players know that facing Al Kharaitiyat presents a new challenge which will be difficult.

“We worked after the last match against Al Gharafa. We do the same thing all the time. As I prepare the team for every match, I tell the players to focus and prepare better. Indeed, losing consecutively is not easy for any team, but we are working hard for the next match. Our goal is to return to the path of victories, we want to return to winning ways. We want to get three points,” said Marquez.

Al Wakrah player Mohammed Khaled Hassan said, “The backroom staff have worked with us throughout the few past days in order to mentally prepare us for the Al Kharaitiyat match. God willing, we will play for victory and collect the three points we want badly. The Al Kharaitiyat match will be our gateway to return to victories, we hope, and we promise our fans that we will do our best to achieve positive results during the upcoming matches. There is no doubt that I got experience from playing with the first team and I thank the coach for trusting my abilities.”
