Al Sailiya coach Sami Trabelsi spoke to the media ahead of their 2020-21 season QNB Stars League Week 7 match against Al Wakrah.
“We gave the players some rest as we thought they needed time to recover because we play every three days. We felt a kind of physical exhaustion, especially in the last match against Al Khor, which ended in a goalless draw.
“We will seek to pick up points that we feel we lost against Al Khor by winning when we play against Al Wakrah. I know that we will play against a top team and perform well, but facing them is not easy at all.
“There is no doubt that our performance against Al Khor was affected by physical exhaustion and we did not enter the match properly during the first half, and when we felt in danger, we did not have the level to fight back as required.
“I am waiting for a positive performance against Al Wakrah. I know that the match is not easy and I hope there will be a strong reaction from our attackers, especially because we missed numerous opportunities against Al Khor,” said Trabelsi.
Al Sailiyah player Ahmed Hammoudan said, “The team atmosphere during preparation was very serious in order to prepare for Al Wakrah match. We all work together as we must win our next match. We hope that we will be technically and physically ready because of the importance of the three points.
“Against Al Khor, we could not score. Although we attacked a lot and created more chances, we did not succeed. We hope to be better against Al Wakrah.”
