Al Wakrah coach Marquez Lopez spoke to the media ahead of their 2020-21 season QNB Stars League Week 12 match against Al Ahli.

“We will play a large number of matches in January and there are some players coming to help us complete the season. Regarding the last match against Al Kharaitiyat, the victory in it was very important. Without it, we would have been in a bottom place in the table. Now we have 13 points and we have to continue working hard to achieve victories because losing two games will make you relegated.

“In the standings, if we succeed in winning two matches, we will rise to a better position, of course. Our past performance was important in order to regain confidence and now we have a difficult match to prepare for. It is important to build on the last victory in order to continue achieving victories and overcome the hurdle of Al Ahli,” said Marquez.

Al Wakrah player Jassim Al Hashemi said, “The next match will be difficult because we will face Al Ahli, who are a good team and completely different from its situation last season. For us, we are ready and we hope to have a positive result. Our ambition is to collect the maximum number of points from the coming games.”
