Umm Salal coach Aziz Ben Askar spoke to the media ahead of their 2020-21 season QNB Stars League Week 13 match against Al Khor.
“We can achieve our goal of winning, especially since we have a lot of good players to do that. In the match against Al Duhail, we saw young players participate for the first time and players on the reserve bench were given a rest to recover a little, and therefore the team has a strong group and it has to work hard until the end of the season.
“The next match will definitely be difficult against a strong team and I congratulated their coach last season for the wonderful work he did. I know that they work hard and they are a team like one family, so I expect it will be a difficult game, but the important thing is that we focus on ourselves and what we will do,” said Ben Askar.
Umm Salal goalkeeper Baba Malick said, “In the last match we played well against Al Duhail, which is a big club and known to all, and we respect them and they respect us. Therefore, I see the result of that match shows that we are developing somewhat.
“About the next stage, I think Umm Salal are able to overcome the danger stage, as there are still many matches and we can offer the best. Now when I look at my colleagues I see that they are very focused on the next match, so I hope that we finish the season well.”
