Al Kharaitiyat coach Wesam Rizik spoke to the media ahead of their 2020-21 season QNB Stars League Week 19 match against Umm Salal.

“The Umm Salal game is considered as one of the most important matches and all teams in general fight in this round and in the following rounds strongly with the aim of winning the remaining points in the league so that each team improves its position in the table. As I mentioned before, we will fight until the last moment in order to achieve our goal of survival in the top flight and we will not give up.

“The team continued its training after the last round and we corrected the mistakes that appeared in the previous games, so they would not be repeated against Umm Salal.

“We will work to provide a good level and are ambitious to win more points that will increase our hopes of survival despite the difficult situation.

“I spoke to the players about the need to forget past defeats and focus more on this match as it is one of the most important meetings that the team goes into this season. We must take advantage of the opportunities in front of the goal and score goals, and this comes with doubling efforts and focus,” said Wesam.

Al Kharaitiyat player Mohammed Osman said, “The match against Umm Salal is crucial for us, especially since any more loss will prove dear for us. We are well aware that the match against Umm Salal will be difficult, like all league matches, but in football we have to fight till the last breath and give everything we have until the last minute of the match.

“The coaching staff worked hard with us during the past period, but it is football. We lost many points due to various reasons, sometimes due to individual mistakes, but we must forget all that and focus now on this match against Umm Salal.”
