Al Khor coach Winfried Schafer spoke to the media ahead of their 2020-21 season QNB Stars League Week 20 match against Al Wakrah.

“A very difficult match awaits us against Al Wakrah. It is a very important match, but we have prepared well. We have prepared with great focus using the video technology and training on the field. Everyone is ready and we hope to apply these things in the match against Al Wakrah.

“We must fight in this match and apply everything we gained through training. Discipline on the field is very important. I do not want to think about relegation now. We will think about matches, one at a time.

“I am always optimistic and we will go into all remaining matches with the aim of collecting points. We missed a lot of opportunities and we made many mistakes in the previous matches, whether it was against Qatar SC or Al Gharafa. Now, we have to focus and come out with a new spirit and play with passion until we get out of this stage,” said Schafer.

Al Khor player Khaled Masoud said, “We do not face any difficulties, whether physical or mental, as we are ready for the Al Wakrah match. We were unlucky as we missed opportunities. Those were the main reasons for this situation that the team suffers from.

“All remaining matches are important. We need all these points as they are important to us. I assure you that the team is fully prepared and we will present our best possible level.”
