The 2020-21 season QNB Stars League’s Week 8 matches will be played on Tuesday and Wednesday, 8th and 9th December, 2020, with three matches each day.
Strong battles, especially against Al Arabi and Al Rayyan, are on cards.
The fixtures are Al Duhail vs Al Sailiya (Al Duhail Stadium, 17:30), Al Wakrah vs Al Sadd (Al Duhail Stadium, 19:45), Al Arabi vs Al Rayyan (Al Ahli Stadium, 19:45) on Tuesday, Umm Salal vs Al Kharaitiyat (Al Ahli Stadium, 17:30), Al Ahli vs Al Gharafa (Al Ahli Stadium, 19:45) and Qatar SC vs Al Khor (Al Duhail Stadium, 19:45) on Wednesday.
The encounter between Al Arabi and Al Rayyan will highlight the week’s action. It always evokes keen interest and is noted both on and off the field, mainly because of the clubs’ rich tradition, achievements and passionate fan base.
Al Arabi are in 10th place with five points, while Al Rayyan are fifth with 11 points.
Al Arabi lost ground following their 0-3 loss to Qatar SC in the previous round, whereas Al Rayyan went out of the top-four bracket after they too dropped points having drawn 1-1 with Al Ahli.
Reigning champions Al Duhail, fourth with 12 points, face Al Sailiya, eighth with eight points. Al Duhail had beaten Al Kharaitiyat 4-1, whereas Al Sailiya had lost 1-3 to Al Wakrah in Week 8.
Al Wakrah, sixth with 10 points, run into leaders Al Sadd (19 points) in the opening day’s other action.
On the second day, Umm Salal, placed last with four points, take on Al Kharaitiyat, ninth with six points.
Second-placed Al Ahli (16 points) face the challenge of third-placed Al Gharafa (15 points) in another much-anticipated clash.
In the week’s other fixture, Qatar SC, seventh with nine points, meet Al Khor, 11th with four points.
