Yesterday evening the Qatar Stars League sent a number of senior officials to visit Al Gharafa Sports Club in a show of appreciation. The delegation consistes of Mr Hassan Al Kawari - Head of General events / Acting Director of Events, Abdel Aziz Al-Malki, Community Events Officer, and Nasser Al-Kuwari, Community Events Officer and GOALZ Programme Supervisor.
The QSL officials were welcomed by Mr Jassim Al Mansouri, the General Secretary of the club. The QSL official met with Gharafa club officials and handed over gift presentation to regocnise the hard work of the club this season.
In addition QSL officials distributed a number of certificates to members of Al Gharafa club staff to tank them for their efforts: Taha Al-Muhaza, Club Media Officer, Mohamed Nafaa, the Club Venue Manager, Saleh Al-Sayed, the Club Facilities Officer, Khalid Said Al-Jabri, the Club Facilities Officer from the Ministry of Youth & Sports, and both the Club’s Indoor Hall Officers Sayed Ezz Al-Rejal and Ahmed Said Al-Jabri.
Mr Al Kawari paid tribute to the club for their good work with the local community, specifically with regards to two important events. This season, Al Gharafa Sports Club held the 3rd Edition of the Workers Cup within its grounds as well as the final GOALZ programme football festival.
Mr Hassan Al Kawari added, “The QSL’s Events and Community Departments were very happy and keen to help and work with Al Gharafa this season. Together we pulled off some great events, the Workers Cup is a big event, which has gone from strength to strength. With Al Gharafa SC, we made sure the tournament was a great success. These kind of projects show clearly the QSL’s determination to engage with the various local communities and give them world class facilities in which to enjoy themselves and play competatively.”
Mr Abdel Aziz Al-Malki, Director of the Workers Cup competition, said: “Al-Gharafa Sports Club had a prominent role and contributed to the success of the third edition of the Workers Cup by hosting at their wonderful facilities.”
Mr Nasser Al-Kuwari, who is responsible for the GOALZ Programme added, “Al-Gharafa Sports Club contributed effectively in the success of GOALZ Programme by hosting its activities and festivals in the club’s indoor hall. Many peopleparticiaped and that is a great sign.”
Jassim Al-Mansoori said, “We are full of happiness and gratitude for such a valuable visit by the QSL delegation. We hope to continue with this cooperation between our Club and the QSL. I would like to thank the QSL officials for their visit to Al-Gharafa Club, which hosted many community events this year.”
Al Gharafa SC finished in 7th spot in the Qatar Stars League last season. The Cheetah’s are looking to do event better in the new campaign after making one of the biggest summer acquisitions, in bringing the QSL’s top scorer - Alain Dioko to the Thani bin Jassim stadium.
