18:15 kick-off at Al Ahli Stadium

Al Wakrah face Al Khor in Week 20 of the 2020-21 season QNB Stars League. The kick-off is at 18:15 at the Al Ahli Stadium on Saturday, 3rd April, 2021.

Al Wakrah, coached by Marquez Lopez, are in ninth position with 22 points. The Blue Wave have been in excellent form of late. They have recorded six victories, four draws and 10 defeats to have a goal difference of -12 (17 goals for and 29 against).

Al Wakrah had held this season’s champions Al Sadd to a 1-1 draw in Week 19 on 11th March and then beat Al Gharafa 2-0 on 16th March. That match was originally scheduled for 6th April along with other Week 21 games, but was rescheduled in view of Al Gharafa’s play-off with Uzbekistan’s FC AGMK in Doha on 7th April, 2021, for a berth in the 2021 AFC Champions League group stage.

However, Al Wakrah had the ignominy of losing their 2020-21 season Ooredoo Cup semifinal 0-3 to Al Sailiya despite beating them by the same margin. That was when the Qatar Football Association’s Disciplinary Committee ruled in favour of Al Sailiya, who protested against Al Wakrah fielding an ineligible player (Jassim Al Jalabi).

Al Khor, on the other hand, are in the danger zone with 14 points. The Knights, under the tutelage of Winfried Schefer, are somewhat safe from the threat of direct relegation, but need to pull up their socks in the remaining rounds.

Al Khor have registered three victories, five draws and 11 defeats, and have a goal difference of -25 (15 goals for and 40 against).

Al Khor had beaten Al Wakrah 1-0 in the first leg of 2020-21 season QNB Stars League.
