Qatar SC beat Al Kharaitiyat 3-1 in Week 13 of the 2020-21 season QNB Stars League at the Qatar SC Stadium on Thursday.
An own goal by Al Kharaitiyat’s Mohammed Salam (38th minute), a superb strike by Youcef Belaili (51st minute) and a neat effort by Hamed Ismail (63rd minute) sealed Qatar SC’s fighting 3-1 win.

Qatar SC now have 23 points, whereas Al Kharaitiyat stood on six points.
Al Kharaitiyat’s Mohammed Salam was quick off the blocks to head home a free-kick in the seventh minute, but the linesman was equally fast to give an off-side ruling. The referee got the confirmation from the VAR as his celebration was shortlived.
Two minutes later, Belaili charged into the Al Kharaitiyat box, but as he was about to take a shot from close range, he overbalanced and tripped under pressure from Oumar Sako, wasting an easy chance to score.
Qatar SC sustained a bit more pressure when Elmehdi Barrahma headed home off a free-kick, but VAR showed the move as off-side in the 17th minute.
In the 28th minute, Qatar SC captain Alejandro Jimena jumped high to get a header in, but his timing was a little off as the ball sailed above a host of players inside the Al Kharaitiyat box.
In the 38th minute, an own goal by Al Kharaitiyat lifted the spirits for Qatar SC. Youssef Farahat of Qatar SC charged down the right flank and slipped in a low cross towards the front of Al Kharaitiyat goalmouth. Abdulrahman Hussain tried to block the shot, but ended up deflecting the ball towards team-mate Mohammed Salam who tripped and fell. The ball hit Mohammed Salam and trickled into the net.
In a narrow miss for Al Kharaitiyat, Mohammed Nawaf curled in a spectacular shot in the 43rd minute from the edge of the box, but his shot went to the right of keeper Jassim Al Hail.
Six minutes into the second half, Qatar SC went 2-0 after Belaili – following a short tap from Bashar Bonyan – drilled a shot from inside the box to the top of the net.
Hamed Ismail added Qatar SC’s third goal when, after receiving a cross from Anthony Okpotu, hit the ball towards the goal but keeper Shehab Ellethy blocked the shot. Hamed was alert to tap the rebound into the net from close range.
Evans pulled one back for Al Kharaitiyat with a powerful shot from the edge of the box.
