Al Rayyan face Al Sailiya in Week 12 of the 2020-21 season QNB Stars League. The kick-off is at 18:45 at the Al Sadd Stadium on Saturday, 2nd January, 2021.

Last season’s runners-up Al Rayyan got back to winning ways under new coach Laurent Blanc as they beat Al Khor 1-0 in Week 11. The Frenchman had lost his first game in Qatar when Al Rayyan lost to Al Sadd 0-1 in the Qatar Clasico in Week 10.

As the tournament’s second leg kicks off, Al Rayyan will be keen to lift their game by several notches in their bid to regain the league shield. The Lions are placed sixth with 16 points (four wins, as many draws and three defeats). Their goal difference is +3 (12 goals for and nine against).

Al Sailiya are eighth in the table with 12 points. The Peregrines have three wins, as many draws and five defeats against their name with a goal difference of -6 (13 goals for and 19 against).

Sami Trabelsi’s men are suffering from a slump in form of late. They slipped by one place after their 0-1 Week 11 loss to Al Arabi.

Al Sailiya, who had upset champions Al Duhail with a 2-1 victory in Week 8, are capable of pulling of surprises.

The Al Rayyan ranks include the likes of goalkeeper Fahad Younis, Franck Kom, Khaled Muftah, Yacine Brahimi, Abdukaziz Hatem, Yohan Boli and Gabriel Mercado, while Al Sailiya have players such as Claude Amine, Mustafa Mohammed Abdelhamid, Tiago Bezerra, Mohanad Ali, Serigne Mbodji, Mohammed Mudathir and Ahmed Mohamed Sebaei.
